PROGRAM NOTES
Il Sole inganna (The Sun is Deceiving), because it burns you
without you noticing. The Sun is deceiving, because also when
it shines, there are storms in our hearts. The Sun is deceiving,
because even on the most beautiful days wars don't stop. The
Sun is deceiving because even simple melodies from old songs,
apparently harmless, can become ghosts of memory that haunt us,
bringing back the sadness of the past. The piece was commissioned
by Matteo Zurletti, to whom it is dedicated, and was composed
in New York during the gray and rainy spring of 2003.
PROGRAMMA DI SALA
