PROGRAM NOTES
The River of Silence was born out of my long-standing love
for the Japanese style of poetry known as haiku. What has always
intrigued me of haiku is its unique characteristic of capturing
very essential moments of the human experience, employing just
a few words (in Japanese, a sequence of 5-7-5 syllables). In
my work, cast in one organic movement comprised of several sections,
I have blended the warmth of the human voices with the sounds
of the percussion instruments, trying to recreate the sounds
of nature, which is often the protagonist of haiku. The title
comes from "The Prophet" by Khalil Gibran.
PROGRAMMA DI SALA
The River of Silence (Il Fiume del Silenzio) nasce dal mio
tradizione giapponese chiamato haiku.
a catturare momenti molto essenziali dell'esperienza umana usando
